Trustees

The Trustees have three primary areas of responsibility at Woodlawn:

  1. Proper maintenance, protection and operations of our buildings and grounds for the use and benefit of the congregation as part of the United Church of Canada.
  2. The management and oversight of the Church’s insurance & investments.
  3. To hold the deed of the property “in trust” for the congregation, Presbytery and the national United Church of Canada.

With the revision of the governance system, Trustees became the overseer of the Accessibility Project.

Since the completion of the construction of the Accessibility Project, Trustees have been diligently working at various projects in several areas of the buildings because due to age and condition there are upgrades and regular maintenance procedures required to the overall property. The Trustees share the workload of these responsibilities and tasks with their talents and as required rely on volunteers from within and outside the committee to make this manageable.

Task groups within the trustees include:  Kitchen & UCW liaison, Finance & Investment, Heritage Centre, Plumbing, Heating & Electrical, Landscaping & Snow Removal, Waste Removal, Security & Grants.

We are a congregation of the United Church of Canada, a member of the Worldwide Council of Churches.
