Welcome to Woodlawn United

Woodlawn United Church has been serving God in this area since 1884. We have dedicated ourselves to kindling, strengthening and renewing the spiritual life in Jesus Christ.  Whether you are journeying with us for just this hour or for a lifetime, we are glad to have you with us.

The Church facility is 1.2 hectares (3 acres) in area and in 3 buildings: the historic Heritage Centre (White Church - Methodist, 1884), the Patterson House (offices) and the Brick Church (1959). The tennis court and Morash Pond are managed by the Municipality.

Our worship begins at 10 a.m. The service is varied, ranging from traditional to inter-generational, creative, and contemplative. We highly value the performing and visual arts and place great emphasis on their role in our worship life.

We offer a number of seasonal spirituality events each year including Quiet Joy in Advent and Lenten Watch. We offer a wide-ranging programme for adults, children, youth and young adults and seniors.

Our pastoral care is delivered through a Pastoral Care Division, Pastoral Care Team and the Ministry Staff. Many find friendships and care through the groups and organizations to which they belong.

Our Outreach Programme includes the support and housing of the Dartmouth East Christian Food Bank and the UCW used clothing store (DunGen). We have a very vigorous Christmas Box programme which is run in association with the Department of Community Services. We are involved in many local outreach projects. The congregation annually donates over $95,000 to and through mission and benevolent funds.
