Continuing monsoon rains have washed away roads and bridges and are hampering relief efforts. Employment Opportunity: Woodlawn United Church - Director of Music: position description
Woodlawn United Church, an active congregation of approximately 650 families in East Dartmouth, NS, is seeking a part-time choir director/organist.
This person will co-ordinate and plan, with the ministerial staff, the overall music ministry at Woodlawn. Currently, there are two adult choirs offering leadership. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop opportunities for youth involvement in our music ministry.
The director of music should have a background in a wide variety of styles and genres of church music and demonstrate skills as a conductor, organist/pianist. Instruments available in the sanctuary include a Yamaha piano and a three-manual Rodgers 330 organ.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: This continues to flourish here at Wood lawn, as evidenced by the display before you to be blessed this morning. The stories, notes and letters of thanks and appreciation from those who have received a shawl is further reinforcement of the value of this ministry. A big THANK YOU! to all who have contributed so far by knitting, crocheting or donating (yarn or money for it), and an invitation to consider being a part of it if you have not done so yet - the need is on-going. Dedicate a Bulletin -
The worship committee of The Woodlawn United Church is offering you an opportunity to dedicate a Sunday Bulletin in the following ways:
- In Memory Of a Loved One(s)
- In Appreciation/Celebration of the work of a specific person or group/organization
- In Gratidude to those in our church who have dedicated their lives and efforts to the ongoing work of our church.
The reasons for dedicating a bulleton are endless and will be left up to the person(s) to decide how they want to dedicate the bulletin. Each Sunday,a bulletin can be dedicated in the name of an individuals or individuals . We are asking for a donation of $40.00 to place the dedication in the bulletin.
You may pick up the the form in the pews on Sunday or from the office. There will be an online form on the website soon.
